Lancaster III serial JA892

Terry Wallner is seeking those who survived the final flight of Lancaster III serial JA892 code ES- from 49 Squadron took from RAF Fiskerton at 2147 on 17/18.08.1943 on Ops to Peenemunde and due to enemy action was shot down and crashed near Greifswald. Of the 7 crew members 2 were killed and 5 were taken POW.
The other crew members were as follows:
Flying Officer William James Lowe Taken Prisoner of war taken to Stalag Luft 3
R/143738 Flight Sergeant (Air Gnr.) John Isidore Wallner RCAF KIA
1506302 Sergeant (Air Gnr.) Dennis Parkin Son of John F. Parkin and Mary E. Parkin, of Grasscroft, Yorkshire KIA
Pilot Officer C. Robinson POW
Sgt W A Boyd POW
Sgt A F Anderson POW
Flying Officer P F Duckham POW:
Both John Wallner and Dennis Parkin are now buried at the Commonwealth War
Cemetery in Berlin .  If anyone knows the fate of the 5 prisoners of war from

Joe Beckett is interested in finding out what happed to the members of his two Bomber crews. They are as follows:-
115 Squadron based at Marham March 1942 until July 1942
P.O.(Navigator) Allan Hill
Sgnt.(W/OP) Jack Sherriff

102 Squadron based at Pocklington Joes crew  were:-

Brendan Murphy is seeking anyone who may remember his Uncle who came from Newfoundland W/O Thomas Murphy who was a Wireless operator/Air gunner Serving with Coastal Command Group 19 . 502 squadron at RAF St Eval and 14 squadron Chivenor

Robert Nelson (Bob)

Warrent Officer Kenneth (Ken) Living , who was a Navigator with 101 Squadron Based at RAF Binbrook is trying to find one of his friends that he flew with
Flt/Sgt Robert (Bob) Nelson who was a wireless operator and flew with Ken whilst he was with 101 Squadron.
Unfortunately Ken lost touch with Robert but believes that he lived in Bolton after the war Bob would probably be around 80 now

James Summers :

Tony Summers is seeking information in regard to his Father, James Summers who trained in the US, becoming an instructor at Spence Field, Moultrie, in Georgia.
In August 1943 he converted to Beaufighters, possibly at Chartenhall, near Duns, Berwickshire, and in April 1944 left for the Med to join 255 Squadron.  They were by then in Foggia, Italy, and he flew on 31st August 1944, with F/O C J (Sandy) Sanders on an intruder patrol over Yugoslavia.  They were shot down or crashed near Karlovac, now in Croatia, and are buried in Belgrade.
Tony is seeking anybody who knew his Father whilst he was with 255 Squadron or at any time prior to this. Tony can be contacted at the email address below:

Allan E Egan

Keryl Egan is seeking anyone who may remember his Father A411996 Flight Lieutenant (Pilot) Allan E Egan RAAF who along with 2 other members of his crew were taken POW when their Lancaster I serial ED528 code PM-Z from 103 Squadron took off from Elsham Wolds at 2242 on 25/26.06.1943 on Ops to Gelsenkirchen and due to enemy action crashed at Bechtrup.
F/.L Egan was taken to Stalag Luft L3 and later transferred to Luckenwalde as the Germans retreated from the Russian advance.
The other crew members who were also taken Prisoner of war were as follows:

569265 WO J S Johnston Stalag 357 POW No. 179
Unfortunately the other crew members were reported killed in action -

Jack Eric Ward

Jon Ward is seeking anyone who may have known his Father Jack Eric Ward who was a pilot in Coastal Command. He trained in Canada and then from Sept 1943 to Sept 1944 he was stationed at RAF Wick with 519 squadron.
He was commissioned in Sept 1944 and transferred to 521 squadron - first at RAF Skitten, then from Feb 1945 at RAF Brawdy, and from June 1945 at RAF Chivenor.
Those he served with were, Squadron Leader Andrews, also Mayo, McGregor, 'Lofty; Gullen. His crew memebers were Bob Innes (Canadian), Bren Mulligan (Canadian) Ron "Izzy" Hayes the Navigator (Australian) and Charles Thurgood.

Val Hannah is currently trying to find out any information as possible about the owner of the initials G.F.D.Val know that he and his wife are deceased and as far as aware have no surviving relatives.What Val does know is that he was a navigator on 300sqn Lancaster's ('43-'45),and Beaufighters and Mosquitos on 307Sqn ('41-'43).Val has a copy of his photo album and his Irvin with his initials 'painted' on the back
