Richard A Rothery originally from Bradford in west Yorkshire, now living in Jakarta for a number of years had the great pleasure to work in the late 70's with an ex Halifax bomber flight engineer called Thomas Fox (Tommy), whose very many stories about his tours were
fascinating. Tommy and Richard were at that time living in Brighouse, West Yorks, Richard knew Tommy for 3 years. Richard and Tommy worked at a Brighouse based wire drawing company, which sadly does not exist now, but the name of it was James Royston son and co ltd Tommy was the chief tester there. Tommy also had a daughter called Georgina. Tommy said he did three tours and was once made adjutant, moving at some point to a different base and squadron. before going on a mission, Tommy always wore a small brooch which consisted of a pair of very small dutch clogs, and that a mess prankster who once tried to remove the brooch was threatened with his life.
Do you Remember Tommy Fox? Or perhaps you know his family. If so the Richard would dearly like you to get in touch. Tommy was a very dear friend of Richards and would love to know if he is still alive.
