Julie Hosking is seeking anyone who may remember her Father Ernest Birchley (Birch) who was stationed at RAF Leuchars during WW2 with his great friend  Rod Archer both attached to 42 Squadron. Rod was reported killed in action 17/05/1942 and Ernest was also shot down at the same time but was taken to Prisoner of war and taken to Stalag Luft L3.
Ernests crew were Sgt Barnett Sgt Addison , Alan Wells (NZ)
Others that were stationed at Leuchars with Ernest included, :Dick Hooper, Russell Devenish Meares.

Liz Else is seeking anyone who may remember her Farther Sergeant (Nav,) Eric. J Else who was taken Prisoner of war and taken to Stalag Luft L6 (POW No 614) when his Lancaster I serial ED314 code QR-Y from 61 Squadron took off from RAF Syerston at 1915 on the evening of 27/09/1943 on Ops to Hanover and was shot down on the outward bound leg of the mission.
The other members of the crew were as follows

Kenneth Gilbert Hackett (Ken)

Steve Hackett is seeking any information or anyone who may have known Kenneth Gilbert Hackett (Ken) who trained with 47 Air School in S.Africa.1/4/43 - 7/7/43. He was then sent to Wigtown, Scotland, 20/9/43 -18/10/43.Then No.28 OTU at Wymeswold -Castle Donington, 23/11/43 - 10/2/44. From there he was posted to 1667 HCU at Sandtoft, 12/4/44 -30/4/44. No.1 L.F.S. at Hemswell,14/5/44 - 16/5/44. No.460 SQDN at Binbrook, 28/5/44 - 18/10/44.Then there is a gap until 15/9/45 when Ken joins 1383(T)C.U. at Crosby-On-Eden.

Jane Elliott is seeking anyone who may remember her Father Ernest Baverstock (Curly) who was a Wireless operator with 50 Squadron based at RAF Skellenthorpe who was taken Prisoner of war when his Lancaster II was shot down in October 1943 and spent 2 years in Stalag 1VB

Alan John Goldie

Alison Tracey is seeking information about her late father Alan John Goldie who joined the RAF in 1935 and was disabled out in 1945. Unfortunately Alison has very little information about her fathers time in the RAF other than he was a flight Lieutenant, then a Squadron Leader in 1939 and also Acting wing commander. He was at one time stationed at RAF Aldergrove but Alison is not sure where else. He was in Bomber Command, a part of the team that carried out the raid on Hamburg
She was also told that at one time he was in charge of a camp in Scotland for refugees from Gibraltar.

Dave Spencer is seeking information in regard to his Uncle 67050 Squadron Leader (Nav.) Nathaniel Leslie Shove DFC who was killed along with 4 other members of his crew when their Halifax III serial MZ575 code MP-W from 76 Squadron took off from RAF Holme on Spalding Moor ar 2225 on the evening of 12/05/1944 on Ops to attack the Railway Yards at Hasselt and was show down by a night fighter
The other Crew members were as follows

Kevin Mannion

Claire Clark (formerly Mannion) is trying to contact any surviving relatives to the following airmen who along with her Brother 1562926 Flight Sergeant (Bomb Aimer) Kevin Mannion were reported killed in action when their Lancaster III Serial PB461 code OF-M from 97 Squadron took off from RAF Coningsby at 1649 on the evening of 21/12/1944 on Ops to bomb the Synthetic Oil Works at Politz near Stettin in Poland and crashed in the mountains in Aseral, Norway.
The other crew members who were also reported killed in action were

1416979 Sergeant (Flt. Engr.) (J) S B Morgan
J/89860 Pilot Officer (Nav.) George Herbert Kendall RCAF

This was one of two Lancaster Bombers which crashed in the same mountainous area on the same night. The bodies of the airmen are buried in three different locations, i.e. Aseral, Eiken and Flekkefjord, The Mayor of Aseral, Mr Jorgen Asland, who is a keen historian, intends to open a Museum some time in the future, in memory of all the young airmen who died. Mr Asland would like, if possible, to have photographs of these young airmen to be included in the Museum. Mr Asland can, in turn, provide some background information in relation to the crash.

Albert Leslie Mellor

Angela Deeley is seeking any information in regard to her Grandfather 943914 Sergeant (Flt. Engr.) Albert Leslie Mellor who died of his wounds when his Stitling III serial BK809 code AA-T from 75 Squadron took off from RAF Mepal at 2130 on the evening of 08/09/1943 on Ops to Boulogne but on take off swung violently and collided with a petrol bowser before crashing into houses bordering the airfield. Apart from 2 other members of the crew who were also reported killed in the accident 2 other RAF personnel were also reported killed along with 2 civilians.

151013 Flying Officer (Air Bomber) Norman Hathway Gale (Killed in the accident)
Sergeant G Muir was injured in the accident
