Paul Beecroft is member of the British Falconers' Club. Together with another Falconer he is putting together articles about Falconers from the past especially those who died during WW2 or those who contributed in some way. They have recently purchased some photographs and type written letters that were being sold on the Internet. The letters are typed by a Flight Sgt. S.E.Viles who was i/c of the Falcon Unit at Coltishall. The letters are dated 5.11.48 and 12.1.49. Also, I have a newspaper article from The Illustrated London News, April 23rd 1949 which again shows photographs with a small write up. There is also reference to an identical falcon Unit at RAF Driffield and F/Sgt Gouldin was in charge
Do you know of any of the above? If so then Paul would like to hear from you and can be contacted at the email address below |
